About

How it started…

Since childhood I’ve always liked music, it’s embedded in my DNA! Back in 1977 my dad bought me a used Kenwood receiver, Akai speakers, and a Dual 1219 turntable with Shure M91E cartridge. Soon after (like 99% of people at that time) I was upgrading (or downgrading from my current perspective…) to whatever ‘latest and greatest’ audio system brands being marketed in retail chain stores. On 1980 my system got stolen and I entered into what I consider an ‘audiophile’ depression period.

Then in 1984 (while completing my BSc in Computer Sciences) it happened, I went to a small local audio store, Precision Audio Inc., and heard my first true ‘audiophile’ system, a Rega Planar 3 turntable, Linn Basik cartridge, Creek CAS4040 integrated amplifier, and a pair of Wharfedale Diamonds Mk I, and bought it. A few months after I was offered to work for that same audio store as Service Manager, mainly setting up new turntables (officially trained Linn LP12 setup specialist by the Linn distributor at that time, Audiophile Systems, Inc.), and home audio systems for customers.  Later that year I swapped my Rega Planar 3 turntable for a brand new Linn LP12 with a Linn Ittok LVII tonearm (which I still own!), a myriad of cartridges (Linn, Dynavector, Grace, Sumiko, Kiseki, etc.) and upgraded my electronics to various iterations of Naim Audio combinations, finally surrendering to Linn.

In recent years I’ve provided turntable setup and home audio services for local audio dealers and customers in Puerto Rico and the U.S. mainland. The main focus is on the Linn LP12 turntable, but services are also available for Rega, Project, SOTA, and other turntable brands (upon request). Home audio system services are also available upon request.

Musical enjoyment is what most people look for when buying a high fidelity system. In the end, they forget the original reason they bought it, and end up comparing specs from different brands (which is totally useless). It’s very simple, just let your feet tap and get involved in the music, predict what the musician’s inflection on the next note is going to be, without ever hearing the song first. Is funny, but it works.

My preference is to work thru the established audio dealer networks since they mainly own the brand representation, but can directly provide services and upgrade options if no local representation is available for the product you’re looking.

Happy listening!!!
